Nominations from current members to join the ANZMAC Executive Committee for the period 2027-2029 (inclusive) are now open, with successful nominees announced at the upcoming AGM in Auckland on Monday 30th of November 2026 in Auckland.
ELEGIBILITY:
- Nominees must have been current individual members of ANZMAC noting that you are an individual member of ANZMAC if you registered to last year’s conference (2025) OR if you paid for the individual membership via the ANZMAC website for a fee of A$120 (+GST).
- Only ONE Executive Committee member per institution may serve at any time.
- For institutions with no continuing Executive Committee member, multiple nominees may run in the election, but only the one with the most votes will be successful in joining the committee.
- AGM Attendance: Successful nominees must attend the upcoming AGM (in person or online) to accept the position (Monday 30th of November 2026 in Auckland).
- Regional Representation: As per the Constitution, the Committee must include at least three members each from Australia and New Zealand. However, since there are currently three continuing members from each country, there are no regional requirements in this election.
NOMINATION PROCESS & DEADLINE:
Nominees need to complete page 2 of the nomination form below with all the required details, including a 100-word nominee statement. Nominees then need to submit the completed form via email to Rico Piehler at rico.piehler@mq.edu.au.
All nominations need to be emailed by 5:00 pm (AEDT) / 7:00 pm (NZDT),Thursday 15th of October 2026. An email confirmation will be sent that the nomination has been received. Nominations submitted using a different method, or past this deadline will not be accepted.
The form must be signed by a nominator who is a current Individual Member of ANZMAC on page 3. If the nominator is not the nominee’s Head of School (HoS)/Head of Department (HoD), the nominee needs to ensure HoS/HoD support (signature required) prior to submitting this nomination, as funding may be needed to attend in-person Executive Committee meetings.
NOTE: There are presently TWO vacancies to join the ANZMAC Executive Committee. If the number of nominations exceeds the number of vacant positions, we will hold an online election ballot. If a ballot is required, a voting link will be emailed to all current individual ANZMAC members (as of 15 October 2026) in November 2026, with voting concluding at 5:00 pm (AEDT) / 7:00 pm (NZDT) on Sunday 29th November 2026.
