ANZMAC is pleased to have re-launched Special Interest Groups (SIGs) in 2026. SIGs are intended to foster vibrant, member-led scholarly communities across diverse marketing domains. SIGs are also envisioned to work as a platform for deepening collaboration, facilitating knowledge exchange, and supporting ANZMAC’s commitment to research excellence, relevance, and real-world relevance. SIGs will thrive based on broad engagement across the ANZMAC community and extend the reach across other areas of the world; for example, spanning diverse conceptual, methodological, sectoral or interdisciplinary areas of research and scholarship of teaching.

SIGs’ cycle: SIGs will run for a two-year period. After this, SIGs will be required to apply for continued endorsement by the ANZMAC Research Sub-Committee. The next call for SIGs will be in 2028.

SIG activity will run from conference to conference, enabling alignment with the ANZMAC annual cycle. Each SIG will be allocated a slot in the conference program (e.g., a networking meeting or themed session) to connect members and plan activities. It is expected that SIG members will self-organise additional meetings and collaborations throughout the year.

Funding and Support: In 2026, ANZMAC has funded four SIGs, receiving $2,500 per annum to deliver on the planned Activities, including at least one member-facing activity per year (e.g., panel, webinar, workshop).
