Marketing for social impact SIG

The ANZMAC Marketing for Social Impact (MSI) Special Interest Group is focused on building a collaborative scholarly community that advances marketing’s contribution to positive societal outcomes. It aims to integrate research, education, and practice in ways that generate meaningful social impact, emphasising interdisciplinary collaboration, inclusive knowledge systems, and active engagement with industry, government, and communities across Australia and New Zealand. The group responds to increasing expectations that marketing scholarship should not only contribute theoretically but also demonstrate real-world relevance and public value, positioning marketing as a discipline that can address complex societal challenges while enriching teaching and practice.

The MSI SIG will provide a unifying platform within ANZMAC to connect and strengthen this activity, establishing a coherent, cross-disciplinary community focused on marketing for social impact. With 60 members across Australia and New Zealand, the SIG will be organised into eight thematic areas, enabling alignment based on expertise and interests while supporting focused collaboration and cross-theme exchange.
