DIVERSITY, EQUITY & INCLUSION (DEI)
Who We Are
The ANZMAC Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Subcommittee has been established in 2025 to help ensure that ANZMAC is a welcoming, inclusive, and equitable professional community for ALL members. The committee brings together ANZMAC members from diverse backgrounds, experiences, career stages, and perspectives. It works collaboratively with the ANZMAC Executive Committee to ensure diversity, equity, and inclusion are considered across ANZMAC activities, policies, events and strategic priorities.
What We Do
The DEI Subcommittee provides advice, guidance, and recommendations to support a more inclusive ANZMAC community. For example, our work includes:
- Reviewing ANZMAC policies, practices, and activities through a diversity, equity, and inclusion lens.
- Identifying opportunities to improve inclusion, accessibility, representation, and participation across ANZMAC.
- Developing and supporting initiatives that foster belonging and equitable opportunities for all members.
- Providing advice on issues affecting underrepresented and marginalised groups within our marketing community.
- Acting as a bridge between ANZMAC members and the Executive Committee on DEI-related matters.
Areas of Focus
The committee supports inclusion for people from a broad range of backgrounds and experiences, including:

Meet the current DEI Subcommittee
The DEI Subcommittee is made up of ANZMAC members who bring diverse experiences, perspectives, and expertise from across Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand. Together, we are committed to fostering a more inclusive, equitable, and welcoming ANZMAC community.
Current Members:
Professor Ann-Marie Kennedy Chair – University of Canterbury, Aotearoa New Zealand
Ann-Marie is Associate Dean Academic at the University of Canterbury and presently Vice-President of ANZMAC for 2026. Her research interests include macromarketing, social marketing, ethics and sustainability. Her most recent research focuses on macro-social marketing, social marketing ethics, and also on authentic sustainability as a business strategy.
Dr Jessica Harris First Nations Representative – Griffith University, Australia
Jessica is a Darkinjung Aboriginal woman and behavioural scientist whose research focuses on Indigenous-led co-design, behaviour change, community wellbeing, and social impact. She is committed to strengthening Indigenous representation, participation, and leadership within the marketing discipline and broader academic community.
