ANZMAC EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE 2026

For a history of the ANZMAC executive committee see here.

THE ANZMAC CONSTITUTION SETS OUT THE APPLICABLE CRITERIA FOR THE EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE:

As specified in Part 3 of the ANZMAC Constitution, the Executive Committee shall control and manage the business and affairs of the Academy. It shall normally comprise no less than ten and no more than twelve members, each from different institutions from Australia and New Zealand. The Executive Committee shall also normally include at least two elected Indigenous Representative positions, with one member representing the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples of Australia; and one member representing Māori. Indigenous representatives shall hold the same rights, powers and voting privileges as all other Executive members. These representatives will be elected by and from Indigenous members to ensure that Indigenous perspectives are actively integrated into Executive Committee deliberations and decisions. Only ANZMAC members who identify as Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander and/or Māori will be eligible for election to these positions.

Office bearers (i.e., President, Vice-President, Treasurer, Secretary) are appointed on the first annual meeting following the Annual General Meeting (AGM). These are voluntarily roles, individual members of ANZMAC can nominate for (please note: conference registration includes individual membership). The roles are not attached to any compensation and entail primarily remote work, such as attendance to monthly online meetings aimed at managing the business and affairs of ANZMAC. Each appointed Executive Committee serves for a period of three years, extendable for a further three years. When nominations for the Executive Committee exceed the number of vacancies to be fulfilled, ballot elections are held ahead of the AGM and the results of the elections are announced at the AGM.
