
OUR AWARDS
From 2025, ANZMAC has updated the range of awards offered to our members, with new nominations possible for different career stages (early, mid-career and distinguished) in the Research and Education fields. We also introduced a new Industry Impact award, and the pre-existing awards for Dissertations (Layton award) and Fellowship of the Academy remain available. There are also awards attached to papers published in the Australasian Marketing Journal (best paper overall, and industry impact paper award), although these are not nomination-based awards.
These changes reflect the 2024 strategic review process, and we sincerely hope will be welcomed by our community.

Layton Dissertation award
This Award recognises the most outstanding PhD dissertation in marketing, honouring academic excellence, originality and real-world relevance, in tribute to the legacy of Emeritus Professor Roger Layton.

These awards are for researchers who have made a significant contribution to advancing our knowledge and understanding of marketing through innovative and impactful research across all career stages and levels of contributions.

These awards are for educators who have made a significant contribution to advancing our knowledge and understanding of marketing through innovative and impactful teaching and learning methods at varying career stages.

Industry relevance award
This newly introduced award recognises outstanding leadership and sustained impact in advancing marketing through industry engagement and the practical application of academic research. It focuses on ECRs and MCRs.

Distinguished
Membership (Fellow) award
ANZMAC warmly invites nominations for Distinguished Membership of the Academy, for individuals meeting the Constitutional requirements of demonstrated outstanding contributions to and being an active member of our community.

Australasian Marketing Journal (AMJ) overall best paper award, and industry relevance paper award
These awards are NOT awards members of the Academy can nominate for; they are annually selected based on research published in our journal with outstanding merit, as selected by the Editorial Board (for the best paper award), and as identified by the Australian Marketing Institute (for the industry relevance paper award), which sponsors this award
