Marketing and Comms Account Manager – PaCE

As a Marketing and Communications Manager in the External Relations and Development team you will promote Massey University’s Professional and Continuing Education offering through public relations, media, social media and marketing including digital.

This diverse account management role will see you working closely with the Professional and Continuing Education (PaCE) executive team supporting their strategic direction and success by developing and implementing a fully integrated external relations plan, drawing on the expertise of a highly-skilled external relations team.

You will support PaCE to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders and to reach new audiences to attract students for the University’s English Language and Foundation Pathways courses and Study Tours as well as new domestic and international customers for tailored short courses. The role can be based at any of our three campuses nationally - choose what best suits you, Palmertson North, Wellington or Auckland!

The successful candidate will be a strong project manager with the ability to work across all aspects of marketing and communications to tell the PaCE story. Good digital and writing skills and a demonstrated understanding of public and/or education sector are desirable.

POSTDOCTORAL FELLOW - MARKETING (LEVEL B)

Salary: AUD $95,434 - $113,323 p.a. plus 17% superannuation

 

The Centre for Workplace Leadership's mission is to develop world-class leadership capability in Australian organisations, working collaboratively at all levels to create productive, innovative, customer-focused, and competitive outcomes. The CWL was initially set up with funding from the government and played a pivotal role in conducting leadership related research amongst Australian workplaces. It has now been integrated into the Department of Management and Marketing.

The appointee will support the Department's strategic objectives by engaging in research in the marketing discipline, and publishing in elite international journals and other esteemed scholarly outlets. The appointee will be required to pursue external research funding with teams of interested academics from the Department. The appointees will also support the Department's strategic objectives by teaching and administering high quality undergraduate and graduate subjects (equivalent to a maximum of a one course load), and high quality executive education programs. It is expected that the appointee will also make a significant contribution to the collegial and intellectual life of the Department.

Employment Type: Full-time, 3 years fixed term position  (For the duration of appointment, the position will be seconded at 0.8 FTE to the Centre for Workplace Leadership)

About the Role

As the appointee, you will provide academic development and teaching in marketing and will contribute to the effective teaching of the foundations of marketing and one of the major areas of marketing such as advertising, consumer behaviour, marketing strategy, or market research. In addition to this, you will contribute to the research strengths of the School, including the pursuit of competitive research grants and regular publication in high quality academic journals, the supervision of research higher degree students; and academic administration and service activities.

You will be encouraged to work collaboratively in research with colleagues both within and external to the School and significantly develop their suite of teaching and research competencies each year. The Discipline aims to ensure that its goals of excellence in teaching and research are consistent with individuals' personal aspirations.

Expertise is required in one or more of the major areas of marketing, including advertising, consumer behaviour, marketing strategy, market research and/or foundations of marketing; course and program development experience (for Senior Lecturer level); and evidence of excellence in teaching MBA students will be highly regarded.
